2.28.09

Hey everyone!
Everything is going really well here at the Country Girl facility! If you have not checked our "news" section lately. We have moved to a new facility in Aguanga. We have more room, but we are at capacity now with 5 rescue horses. We have also started a blog, that I (Melissa V) will try to add updates daily. We have a new Spring layout. Tell us what you think? Porche was adopted by Andrea Castro of Temecula. We have T-Shirts and Bumper Sticker / Window Decals , for sale in our Country Girl Gifts & Apparel section. The T-Shirts are $10.00 plus $6.00 shipping. The Bumper Sticker / Window Decals are $5.00 including shipping. 100% of the proceeds from the T-Shirts and Stickers will go towards hay/feed, veterinarian care, farrier services, and any other expenses our rescues need. We accept paypal!

About our new rescues; Pepsi is a 18 year old Peruvian Paso cross, she IS gaited. Pepsi stands at approx 14.3HH. Pepsi is broke for anyone to ride. You can ride Pepsi with just a halter and a lead rope, she does great on the trail. Pepsi trailers, ties, leads, bathes, picks up all four feet, stands quietly for the farrier, stands quietly to be tacked/untacked, stands quietly to be mounted/unmounted. Pepsi is UTD on farrier, and worming. Pepsi is scheduled to get her teeth floated and shots on March 3rd. Pepsi will come UTD on all shots, farrier, teeth floating and worming. Her adoption fee is $1,500.00

Valentine is a 13 year old Appendix QH mare, standing at 15.3HH. Valentine is broke for anyone to ride. You can ride Valentine bareback with just a halter and a lead. Valentine does great on trail. Valentine is good around dogs, cars, kids, bikes. Not spooky, no vices. Valentine trailers, ties, leads, bathes, picks up all four feet, stands quietly for the farrier. Valentine will make a great first horse, beginner horse, husband horse. Valentine is 100% healthy and sound. Valentine is UTD on worming, farrier. Valentine is scheduled to get front shoes, March 1st. Valentine is scheduled to get her shots and teeth floated March 3rd. Valentine will come UTD on all shots, worming, farrier, and teeth floating. Valentine's adoption fee is $1,200.00

Dakota is a 14 year old registered BLM mustang mare. Standing approx 15.3HH. Dakota has gorgeous coloring! Dakota is going to be completly white except for dapple grey markings on one side of her neck. Dakota has a grey mane and tail. Dakota was abused in the past, she has some trust issues. We are working with Dakota and she is making great progress. Dakota is quiet under saddle. Dakota is good on the trail. Dakota is good around cars, buses, bikes, dogs, kids. We would recommend Dakota to be paired with an experienced rider, due to her trust issues. Dakota needs someone with experience working with horses. Dakota is UTD on worming, farrier, and teeth floating. Dakota is scheduled to get her shots on March 3rd. Dakota's adoption fee is $600.00

Bee a Tigress; Stable nickname "Sweets". Sweets is just that a very sweet girl! Sweets was foaled Jan 25, 1998 by Lord Tiger out of Silverdrone by Drone. We have her papers. According to the Jockey Club she was bred in 2009 to Deep Fall. The stallions owner has been contacted. He said he never received confirmation that the breeding "took", but if it didn't he is offering a free breed back to Deep Fall. Sadly Sweets, can only be a companion horse, broodmare, or lead line for small children, for small periods of time. Due to a leg injury her prior owner failed to have taken care of. The injury is fully healed, and there is nothing we can do at this point. Sweets is NOT in pain, she loves live, she loves people! Sweets loves attention and being brushed. Sweets bonds very quickly to people, and other horses. Sweets is not an agressive mare, she is not a pushy mare. Sweets eats out of the same feeder as Dakota (even though they both have their own). Sweets will take a bite, then Dakota will take a bite. It's very cute. We want to see Sweets go to a good home. Bee a Tigress "Sweets" is FREE to a good home.

*** Pepsi, Valentine, and "Sweets" came off the same property in the Warner Springs area. We have signed a release stating that we would NOT release the former owner's name due to the condition these girls were in when we rescued them***

P.S. We are ALWAYS in need of volunteers, to help with the day to day care of our rescues. We are starting a work for riding program. In exchange for every 4 hours of work, volunteers earn 1 hour of riding, or lessons if needed.
