Country Girl Horse Craze Days of Eventing Updates!

We are still in need of Country Girl Horse Craze Days Queens. (Like Rodeo Queens)Must be able to carry the flag while mounted. Will be required to show up 90 minutes prior to event start to go over rehersal with your horses.

Our Arena location will most likely be in Temecula or Murrieta. I plan to Visit the Arenas (All 3 of them this weekend) and choose which best while suit us.

Shannon has suggested a Trail Ride after eventing for both days! She has 17 horses that she is offering for those whose horses are arena type only. Spectators wishing to use Shannons horses for the trail rides will be required to pay.

We will be doing pony rides for the horse crazy kiddos during the events. They will probably $3 per ride or something small like that.

Again this is a NON Acoholic event. Family oreintated. This is a gathering and a competition for horse lovers. To meet up make new friends. And come away from this event with happy memories, and a few new good friends.

This event will also help raise funds for our rescue.

Again the sign up dates will be closed May 1st. So we will know how many divisions we can hold in each event.
Right now we will be holding
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
in each of the classes
Barrel Racing
Pole Bending
Jumping
The classes will NOT be split up by age, but by experience. Don't be bashful! If this is your first event that's OK!! This is a just for fun event. All participants will receive an award. Everyone will receive a ribbon for the place they took. That's why it is crucial to let us know ASAP how many events you plan to enter, which levels. Ect.

The obstacle course where horse owners will LEAD their horses through it has been drawn out. It's going to be Orange cones to weave in and out of, barrels to walk around, and logs to walk over. This is a timed class, it will not be split up into different catergories.

People wanting to rehome their horses, You are welcome to bring your horse and enter into atleast ONE event. We will announce the horse's information, and the horse's owners contact information. That way people will get to see what your horse can do and meet your horse. :)

Some of our rescues will be at the event as well. Entered in atleast ONE event. Their information and adoption fees will be announced.

After speaking with a few bands, we have deceided during breaks we will play CDS through the speaker system.

Next: If you would like a certain song played while you are eventing, please tell us by May 1st, so we can have the CDS made and ready. All songs will be the "clean" or "edited" versions as this is a family orientated event. No cussing, or vulgar songs will be allowed.

Also if you are planning to attend and participate in any event with your horse, and you have a space available in your trailer let us know. So that perhaps people can Horse pool. :) And split the gas? Let us know the area you are coming from and how many spaces you have.

Still in need of some volunteers to help clean up. We will have garbage cans set up for Soda Cans only, Plastic Bottles only, and Normal Trash Cans. We expect everyone to be respectful and use the trash cans. As the people offering to let us use their arenas are being generous enough to let us use their space, lets try to respect that.

Official dates: July 31st and June 1st.

Rules pertaining to horses: Must have UTD shot record to unload any horse, coggins are not required UNLESS the horse has come from out of state. No stallions.

Rules: No Animals besides horses will be allowed. So please don't bring your dogs or cats and leave them in your truck. All riders and anyone working around or helping a rider with their horses are required to wear a helmet and boots at all times when working with or around the horses. They don't have to be fancy. They just have to do the job. :) Everyone attending including onlookers will be required to sign a release of liability. One for the property owner, one for Country Girl Horse Rescues. All participants are required to arrive 45 minutes prior to the events starting to receive their numbers and pay their entry fees. We will not be accepting checks for entry fees. All vendors should arrive atleast one hour prior to the start of events to set up their tables/booths. We will not be accepting checks for vendors who are going to rent a space during the events. Deadline for vendors to reserve a space is May 1st. Deadline to reserve a space in the events is May 1st as well to keep things simple. Attire for everyone attending, casual. No t-shirts with profanity, or vulgar slogans. Jeans and T-shirts showing parts of your body that children shouldn't be seeing aren't allowed. The rule includes spectators and not just enterants.:)

I think that about sums it up. All that we will need to determine now is the exact location. We should have that space set up/ reserved by next week.

Again if you are planning to enter an event and have extra spaces in your trailer, please let us know what area you are coming from and if you are willing to horsepool for other people who want to enter. The details can be worked out between the individuals as far as paying half of gas or what not. We will simply put people in contact with each other in the same areas.

Good sportsmanship please. This is a fun event. Let's keep it that way. :)

Good Luck to everyone that enters!

If you or someone you know may be interested in being a Horse Craze Days Queen. Please have them contact us with a photo of them/you and their horse. We will be coordinating what the queens will be wearing. Red white and blue. :)

Last but not least! Help us SPREAD the word!! Fliers can be mailed to you upon request. If you have a tack store / feed store, or any place that will let you place the fliers where horse people can see them. That would be great. :)

So please mail us if you don't mind putting up a few fliers for us! We will mail them to you ASAP.

Thanks again to all of our supporters. Even if you do not plan to event, I do hope that you plan to attend. So that we can all meet up!

Our Ads for our Event on Cragslist keep getting flagged!

Hey everyone, sadly there is one or a few ticked off people out there. Probably our old facility off Los Caballos that is flagging every single ad I post in the farm and garden for our event! We have fliers printed out that we will start hanging all over. We need your help to promote the event! Tell all your horse friends! Tell everyone! Despite the flagging we will prevail and have a great time! :)

Cutting Ties

Here we are again.. Cutting more ties... If anyone has any questions about Pepsi the 18 year old Peruvian Paso Cross. I will be updating this blog with her owners contact information. He is asking $1,300.00 for her rehoming fee.. Pepsi is no longer posted on our website, or myspace. Pepsi is not owned by Country Girl Horse Rescues, and we are cutting ties with her owner. :) We wish Pepsi and her owner nothing but the best in the future. Her owner just did not fit in. We prefer to stick to low key, down to earth, honest, and drama free people. :)

All the rescues are doing great!! Pat and Scott have rehomed 4 of their rescue horses!! Yay!! :)

Thanks again to Pat and Scott Rogers for doing what they do helping make the world of horses better.

I am eternaly greatful to Laynette, Heather, and Cassie for helping me so much. Without these ladies, I do not think the Country Girl Horse Rescues would be able to function or carry on.. These ladies are wonderful!! :)

Thanks again to all of our supporters you guys make all the difference in the world with your pats on the back. Wether via email, over the phone or in person. We appreciate all the support..

The Girls Are Doing Good!

All of our rescue girls are doing good!! :) Valentine is getting better day by day!! Dakota has come leaps and bounds since coming to us. :) Dakota now trail rides by herself, she is way more trusting of people. Scarlet is settling down now and getting used to her new home. Pepsi is adjusting to having her teeth floated. All in all we are doing great! Thanks to Laynette, Heather and Cassie for watching and taking care of the girls while I'm at work! Love ya guys! :) Laynette's new rescue mare is coming along great! Aged at age 5 by the tooth fairy. She now has her teeth floated. She is unnamed for now. But she will be available for adoption soon. Heather has taken her out on trail. She is making great progress! :)

Keep checking back for updates!

Since so many people are coming out this Sunday we are going to turn it into a country girl shin dig! BBQ time yay!! :)

So I'm a day late and a dollar short!

Ok sooooo I missed a day posting on our new blog.. Ack!! It is still NEW to me as well so.. Anyways.. I went to sleep at 6:30pm right after work. Ack!!

Rescue Updates: 3-3-09 Pepsi and Valentine got their teeth floated. Their teeth were both TERRIBLE!! Valentine was aged at 13years old. :) Valentine should pick up weight quickly now that she can chew properly, poor thing. Valentine will be receiving her shots this week. :) Yay!!

We have several people coming out this weekend to meet Valentine and Dakota..

Valentine is getting used to her new front shoes.. After she passed her trail riding test.. (We had her feet trimmed prior) After a week of getting used to standing properly, because her hooves were so overgrown from neglect. Valentine went out on trail. She blew an abcess out in her front right hoof. Everyone.. this is why keeping up on farrier is SO important!! Her feet being so overgrown and cracked she was walking on the balls of her hooves. Valentine is healing quickly. This type of blow out is not uncommon for rescue horses whose feet are neglected. It should never be a problem again. Lynette Wilson and her daughters are taking very good care of Valentine, putting medicine on her hoof, it is healing well. We'll see if Valentine will be feeling better by Sunday. :)

We will probably turn this Sunday into a BBQ still! :) Since we have so many people coming out. ;)

Bring a side dish! :D
